      Stress crack repair?

My buddy is looking to buy a 66 Mustang coupe but it looks like there is a stress crack near the window. Its either a stress crack or cracked bondo or paint. Is there a permanent repair for stress cracks? Can we just weld it and smooth it out?

      thanks
      Jesse

Drill holes at the ends of the crack to terminate it's path, then weld and smooth.

if that crack is on the roof near the window it is probally where the seam is leaded and that can be a little more involved than drilling on the ends and welding

we always remove all the lead from seams and completely weld them, then use all-metal or a good type of duraglass filler.
