      Lightweight abutments

Do any companies make lightweight abutment brackets for the LS1 PBR rear calipers? or are there any good ways to lighten the factory ones without sacrificing rigidity?

It's a good thought, but those are some optimized parts...not just for weight, but for manufacturability, cost, etc. Keeping in mind that they're making them in batches of thousands or more for the OE's, they can't afford to give away excess material IMO.

You could maybe get exotic with a chromoly investment casting and maybe shed a few unwanted grams, but you'd probably be much better off replacing your 10/12-bolt cover plate bolts with Ti and save a similar amount of weight, but at a much lower cost.
