      Fitting a 4l80e into a 69 Camaro

      Hi
Just wondering if there are any tunnel mods I need to carry out to fit a 4l80e in the 69 as I am starting the body before the trans will arrive, it will be behind a big block with an AM subframe and standard body mounts.

      Thanks

As he ^ said, it should fit fine. Have mine behind a 454 BB in a 67 with factory subframe, so unless the AM subframe changes anything when it comes to the engine position, you should be just fine.

      Thanks Guys

I am just trying to get ahead of the game, as its a slow process to get any more bits and pieces after my container leave Prodogy.

Mine fit fine in a '67 with factory subframe and a small block. No tunnel mods necessary.

According to my builder, the Sonnax cooler line kit didn't fit though. The tube stuck out too far.

good thought, you will need a russel swivel a.n adapter for the coolor lines so you don't hate your self.

Place a quick call or email to Art Morrison. Inquire if they have raised the engine location to compensate for steering rack placement. If so you may have minor work to do with a hammer. Very minor clearancing at the top of the bellhousing and cooler fitting areas may be required. Heating the area with a propane torch before hammering helps to get the job done clean and easy.
