The problem is the LT1 motor doesn't have the best bottom end and can't really take more than 4-6 psi of boost. Some have tried 8psi....with not too much luck! Honestly 4psi isn't worth the expense.

I have a '96 LT1 motor with a P1SC ProCharger...but it's been totally machined, blower pistons, forged internals, blower cam, ect. This was pricey but necessary to make respectable power (600 hp) with a LT1. I know you said 500hp not 600hp...but truth be told, you will always want a little more and should start with a bottom end that can handle it....the stock LT1 can't.
