      76 Trans Am Project.

I bought this car back in 2001 as a stripped out shell. It was used as a drag car since 1983 then stripped and left for dead.
When I found it, it was just a shell. No wiring, gas lines, brake lines, interior suspension or drive train.
I cut out the rear frame that was there and built a 4 link setup. I used an S&W race cars Super car rear. I installed a Jim Myers Races cars tubular control arms front suspension. It has coil overs on all four corners.
It has a BBC in it with an 8-71 Supercharger making 800HP. It turns a TH400 full manual reverse valve body.
Some of you guys from TAC have followed the build thread over there.
The car runs great and drives and handles pretty good.
Now that I have been driving it for one summer I want to make it more driveable it give it a Pro Street, Tours fell to it.
The first thing I'm doing is removing the 69 Camaro manual steering and going back to power.
I picked up a Detroit Speed and Engineering 14to 1 box. A GM Type II mini pump and March brackets and pulley's. I'll be starting that install soon.
I also want to change the tires over to Radials.
I have been in contact with Proidgy Customs on a new set of wheels.
18x4 up front and a 20x15 out back with the new Mickey Thompson SSR radials tires.
It will still be more on the Pro Street side but I want to make it more enjoyable to drive.

      Thanks guys.
The rear glass is something that only a couple of people have picked up on. I used a section from a 74 Camaro parts car.
The glass is also flush mounted.

Where did you find the glass front end or did you mold it yourself? I'd love to put a glass front end on my 79.

I picked up this nose from a friend. There are a couple of companys still making them.
Did you want t70 to 73 or 77 to 81.
Glass tech makes an 81 style. US body makes one like mine. As far as I know nobody makes a 77 style.

Awesome, maybe. If the 81 style is very similar to yours, how hard do you think it would be to adapt it to a car that was fully functional and wanted to retain that ability. I'm looking to simply replace the front fenders with fiberglass to save weight. I know I would have to come up with bracing since the fenders could no longer do that and a way to mount the hood. Think going with a fiberglass front end would be a good way to go versus making all my own molds?

Thanks. Love the color of your car. Is it sunset orange or another color?

The 81 style I posted has the flang you can see in the pic. The hood sits on that flang and connects with dutz fasteners. That one you could mount to the factory radiator support. I built a custom one out of 1/" and 3/4" tubing. Then you would have to make brackets to blt the top in. The full one piece like mine that tills is allot more work to install. I built a tubular frame under it to give it more support and I made the hinges myself.
The color is a Dodge color Gomango.
