Floor Board Coating and Sound Deadening

So for the GTO and my Cavalier I'm considering coating the floor board before adding carpet and maybe some dynamat type material.

GTO i'm thinking of lizard skin

but for my cavalier vert I'm not to picky but rather keep soime rust from coming back so I've heard of people just using bed liner from advance or auto zone

any thoughts or experience? and do I really need to add a dynamat type material over it before putting down carpet?

Use http://www.secondskinaudio.com/ products. Look at their Damplifier Pro (similar to Dynamat) and Firewall or Spectrum spray on products. It really comes down to what your goals are and how much $$ you want to spend.

I have also used second skin with great results. Damplifier Pro was easy to lay down and very dense for good vibration dampening

I also use Second Skin and love it..
      however...

Bed liners are good for protecting things, but wont do very much in the way of sound or thermal protection.
If rust prevention is your main goal, I say look in to por-15
This is a great product that will take care of your rust problems.
      Super easy to apply.
Then go over it with a vibration damper..
