Here's mine a few months ago. Right now I'm in the process of going through the front suspension trying to get it setting the way I want it to. Engine, trans, and rear end are still stock. I have plans for a 408 and maybe a six speed but since I'm on a tight budget right now it may take a while. This car is a work in progress so I just do what I can when I can. Paint looks good in pictures and at night but it could use A good quality paint job. Also the wheels will be spaced out a little farther than in these pics.

That looks great. The Cougar/Mustang is the only car that can pull off a vinyl top, in my opinion.

It's kinda funny when I was 16 I couldn't wait to get the top off of my car but the older I get , I seem to like em a little more. Almost every car I have ever owned had a vinyl top. My first 69 cougar Almost exactly like the one in the pics just totally stock. Had a 70 Challenger that was sweet as hell w/ a vinyl top. My grandfathers 69 elCamino has a vinyl top and a vinyl stripe across the tailgate. Other cars that seem to be able to pull them off IMHO are 70-71 Torino/Fairlaine/Cyclone/Montego, 72-73 Torino, 68-73 Chevy Nova, Chevelle, elCamino, 67-69 Camaro 70-74 Challenger (Cudas don't look right in vinyl)

Began tearing into it a couple of months ago it's almost broken down except for drive train. Lately though I have been practicing to repair a few holes the right way, rather than the previous owners bondo over it way.

Have a Kaase boss planned with a six speed. I have an eliminator repop scoop(it is absolute crap in quality) that I modified to fit in the factory location, but am debating using a boss 429 scoop for a more aggressive look. I also plan on blacking out the center horizontal lines in the grill, adding a shelby style center console, deleting the c pillar emblems, and adding a passenger side mirror found on 70 eliminators, since I think it's weird only having 1 mirror. If you haven't guessed it's sort of an eliminator clone my way. I should have the new cylinder heads in hand later october. I'd be doing the motor at that point but I'm waiting to see if FR will release a new 385 block.

I see a lot of '69s. I wasn't really too big of fan of them until I saw what you guys did to them. Anyone have a '67 or '68?

Have you been to the mercurycougar.net site? There's quite a few over there. Local Hero has an awsome ride and then theres the G force cougar. Also a good bit of info on the first gen cougars.

I always had a thing for the early Cougars. When I was a kid I'd bypass the Mustangs and go straight to the Cats for a peek.

And I must applaud everyones resistance to post a picture of a Cougar of the lip stick wearing variety.
