      Sport Seats for Big Guys

I am looking for some nice sports seat for my 1972 Camaro but I need them with a wide base.

I really like Recaro's but my big ass just won't fit in those style of seats.

I found these Corbeau's that can be made in a wide width.

any one have any other suggestions for a comfortable seat for the not so small guys.

Call up Recaro or Corbeau and give them your credit card #. Ask no questions. Bend over and grab ankles.

I'm 6'6" 255 lbs. Sucks to be big sometimes. Custom sized dude = custom sized price and fitment.

yeah....corbeau shows a wide seat option for not much more.

May be forced to use some type of OEM seat. I work at a BMW auto recycler and might use sport seats out of a E46 Convertible. They at least have the seat belts built into them and the base is wide. They still are not the most comfortable.

Problem is getting a good pair is tough.

I bought Corbeaus and had them modified. The place building my car took them apart, cut the foam down, so it fit my wide gerth. It helped. They are in Sac. I'll try to post a picture this weekend.

      Arizen

I dont post much in here but being a bigger guy I thought I might chime in. I just bought a set of Arizen RT seats and thought they were great, I am 6'5" at 225. About a 36" waist and broad shoulders and i fit in them well. They are just slightly snug but I actually like it like that. I will be taking pictures in about a week after i start getting all of my interior put in and ill include pics of me in them to show the fit. I plan on starting a thread going over my build up on here anyway. Im not sure how much bigger you are than me but the price is great on those as well. Hope this helps. -Jeff

I used to be 250 with wide shoulders and a 36" waist but now that I've stopped lifting weights I'm 240 with a 40" waist. I got the "original" Arizen seats (the ones that they don't make anymore) and I got them 1" wider than normal and I actually have plenty of room to move around in them. I kind of wish that I got the normal width so they'd be snugger and hold me in place better.

      Ah well, live and learn.

Another vote for the Arizen seats here.
I have them in my 2nd gen. and they fit the car great.

I'm 6'2" and 230 with a 36" waist, so I ordered mine with the standard bottom, but with the wider back. Very comfortable.

Headroom in a 2nd gen is limited, so make sure you get a seat and brackets to position the seat as low as possible.
I ordered my sliders here: http://www.wedgeengineering.net/
At first, it felt as though the seats were higher than stock. Although now, I don't even notice it anymore.

Arizen! Im 6'5" 250 with a 38" waist and my old man is 6'4" 275 with a 42" waist and we both fit in the Arizen seats that are widened an inch. I think it has alot to do with wear you carry your weight. I have tried to sit in a Corbeau seat and they were way to narrow in the shoulders. Could not get in the car.

I'm 6'3" and about 280. I wear 40" jeans and the new Arizen seats fit me well. The are a little sung on my upper thighs but not bad. In fact I prefer that so I don't slide around during an autocross.

Keep in mind as stated above it depends on where you carry your weight.

or you could buy my 2004 gto seats for your 72...come with custom brackets to make them fit and you can see them and sit in them before I pull them out. Let me know. There is an add in the for sale section.
