      say a prayer please.....

A local racer, in the Jegs Pro Mod series. Was at the US Nationals in Indy, and he was was trying to get into the field saturday night. He was on a great pass intill the car got out of the grove and he stayed in it, well the car hooked and went right into the wall. Flipped the car, slid to a stop. He was air cared out.

So a co working and i ran up there sunday, we talked to his wife in the moring and she was going to get us a day pass. When we got there, her and the crew was rushed to the hospital. The steve went into surgery. Steve has fractures in six cervical vertebrae and damage to his spinal cord.

The NHRA inpounded the car, and as of 6PM sunday they still had it.

He came out of surgey and he was able to move his fingers on his one hand, that all the docters wanted at that time. He had another surgery set for tuesday, but they didnt do it cause fluid around his lungs.

Thishas hit all of the friend pretty hard.
This isnt good, Here are some pics of his car(before the wreck)

I know that Frank and Jon at Drivers Inc has talked to steves wife tonya, Steve is having a 1972 El Camino being built and they have got of parts from them.

There is a vid on you tube, i will try to find it again.

I just found this thread after Bad94 emailed me. I just shipped his wheels out today too, so Dan, please let them know they are on the way. I'm so very sorry to hear about this, and our thoughts and prayer's go out to their family from ours.

Steve passed away 5pm ET on Sunday the 14th of September. Please Keep the Engel family, Tanya, Stevie, and Michael in your prayers during this difficult time. A announcement of arrangements will be posted at a later date. And let us not forget all of Steve and Tanya's friends, employees, and family in this heartbreaking time.
