      gear vendors + 4l60 + compushift???

      i have a 4l60 with compushift and twist paddle shifters... will it work with a gear vendors OD turning it into a manumatic 8 speed doule overdrive???

      I think you'll be alternating between paddling and button-pushing. Why would an 8-speed be desirable on a nice, torquey motor?

      The two systems are completely isolated, so yes it works. Just need to decide how to actuate the GV. Your paddle shifter has two channels: Upshift and Downshift. W can build paddle shifters with up to four channels. Or we can provide a Sparco steering wheel with momentary style push buttons and you can use the horn wire to actuate the GV.

      I am with Jim in that I feel 8 speeds are unnecessary. For example I raced around the entire Road Atlanta track, lap after lap, using only 2nd and 3rd gear. Remember that we have semi-viscous couplings, so close ratio gear changes are not as critical.

      That's not to say that the GV can't be fun. I would use it with the mechanical shifter in "3" as a six speed.
