      The "original pro-vair" lives!

Finally. After like 14 years! Today, he drove it across town. We took it to the shop and lowered it. It's sporting my wheels for now, and looks fantastic.

      behold. the "before" picture:

      and after:

a shot of inside that fuel door. This is the first time it's ever been used at a gas pump. It was interesting. But it worked well.

was it black and red with flames? If so, yeah. Fake engine cover. It does have a sweet air ride system with a narrowed rear end on it though.

yep. It's sad really. It's sporting the weakest powertrain a corvair ever had, a powerglide with a 110 hp engine. (you can see stock corvair oil pan under the back of the car) and even has brake simulators. After spending the money he did on paint, and interior, he could have at least hopped up the engine, transmission and brakes.

yeah its obvious there is some nice skill in cosmetic work to the car but should of at least done a nice powerplant or did a nice dressup of the old motor not make it a poser with a LS7 engine cover

Buttoned up the interior on mine. I have the carbs pulled off for detailing and painting. I'm rerouting some wires, and throttle linkage. I've painted my headlight buckets black, And Im thinking about diving into finally putting disk brakes on the thing.

I bought the disc brake adapters from California Corvairs. they are nice looking pieces. I'm pleased with them. Got them off ebay for $79 three weeks ago. Slowly working on my 65, straightening out the quarter panels now.
