      possibly getting a project

Across the street from my parents' house is a wooded area. Really nice area with no through traffic, all one lane roads, nice and secluded, etc etc.

A while back some builders were pushing to put a warehouse in the woods, but got rejected. Since then, they've pushed to build some new houses in there, and have gotten the green light. No construction at all yet.

My mom told me that if they do start to build these $1mil houses in there, she will let me get a project car and keep in their driveway. I'm torn on this. I LOVE those woods and have spend so much time out there, on the other hand I really want a project car. Nature is more important, but I still can't help it.

If this does all go through, do I get the Opel I've been wanting for so many years, or do I go with another car I'm more familiar with? Most of my automotive experience has been on Chrysler products, especially in the 1st gen Neon (95-99), owning 4 of them myself over the years. I would love to have another Neon R/T again, but that may be hard to find on a budget. I've been dreaming of the Opel for years now, but I already know how to do just about anything on the Neon. On the other hand, not knowing much about the Opel also makes for a nice learning experience. Parts can be found cheaper for the Neon. Wife is also much more a fan of the Neon too. The only car she has ever owned is an '01 Neon, and she's had that since it was new

Yeah, her idea is to be the un-wanted neighbors because we don't want to lose the wooded area. There are so many different cars I would love to have as projects, and those were the first two that came to mind. That Neon R/T I had was a blast, and would love to have a Neon to mess around with again, they are so easy to work on! I would love a foxbody, but those are out of my budget (car or parts) and my wife isn't a fan of those either. I'll get something I like, but it would be easier if my wife likes the car too.
