Gage install guidance - electronics questions

      Background:

I'm installing a 2004 Gen III Viper V10 engine in a 1970 Dodge Charger. It is using the stock PCM. I would like to update my stock guages - yet retain the classic muscle car look (I like the Autometer Sportcomp II gages.)

Currently, I have an engine run stand with the original SRT-10 instrument cluster - everything works, but I do NOT want to use these gages - they appear to be all electric and perhaps USB based...

I am looking for tips/suggestions on the type of gages to purchase that can interface in with the v10. I have no problem installing new/difference sensors as required.

However, the engine still needs to run using the stock PCM - so I need to be careful not to disable anything that is vital for the PCM to keep the engine running.

I have no experience tackling this type of electronics modifications - everything on this build has been one challenge or another, but this one is definately over my experience. I do have the Viper FSM - just want to try to save some time and find someone who has done this.

Looking for tips and pitfalls - what to do, and mistakes to avoid.

I intend to install these guages (whether electronic or mechanical) in the stock Charger cluster. No biggie on modifying that - just need all the stuff to work together and not mess up vital inputs to the PCM.

      What would you do???
