      1971 / 2001 Firebird

Haven't psted for a long time. We finally got our Bird fired up on carb cleaner not to long ago (video on main page below). It also tells us the wiring harness from the 2001 TA worked on the first try in the 1971 Bird. Just have the interior, fuel/brake lines, tank, exhaust, some painting, and some odds and ends things left... sounds easy enough, right? lol

I had a question about custom fuel tanks. Anyone know of a good tank shop that can build me a custom tank realtively cheap? I called Rick's and they wanted $1200 with the sending unit included... Way to much for me.

SurlyJoe on ls1tech.com has some info on using a late 90's Impala SS (and all the other cars on the B (??) body platform) gas tank.
It seems to bolt up w/ a little strap-mount work, hides behind the stock body lines, and is a little larger.
      Check it out...
      Oh yeah... Looking good dude!

You can pick up a stock style tank now that has already been converted (intank pump, sender and baffles) for about $600. They are on Ebay, but MucleRodz sells them here also. I picked one up and it is a quality build.

thanks. i've been calling around and looking more on the internet for people that can build a smaller custom tank for me. $300 is the cheapest i've come across. i guess i wasn't thinking at the time and all i really need is someone who can do a nice weld job. tanks-to-pans.com has tanks for almost every make and model. i browsed through every tank and couldn't find what i needed. 30x19x6 inch. so i'll be finding me a welder and have an external pump in the trunk

don't put your fuel pump in the trunk of the car. That's very dangerous.

Car's looking great. I remember back when you started the project. I'm glad to see you're still out there making progress.
