      need heater help

Well i dont want to run a/c and i want to smooth the firewall on my 70ta, but i still want my defrost to work for the cold nights. I dont want to run any heater lines trough the firewall either. Can it be done? Is there any kits out there to help me out? Thanks

      V/A "Compact heater w/defrost"

Vintage Air makes a clean little heater/ defroster (No a/c)

I routed the hoses through the smooth firewall, but you just as easily run them under the fender where the old blower motor hole was.

hey thats the exact question I wanted to ask
I reckon the same setup fits a 69 camaro doesn't it? How much did something like that cost?

Yeah, those pics are of a 69 Camaro. They are very small and fit just about anything.

The heater w/defrost is about $200.

      Well, the defrost works great.

The floor vent opens at the bottom when on floor heat , the passenger gets more heat than the driver, but after a while the whole cockpit warms up.

It has 3 blower speeds, and it is noisy on the 2 higher ones, but that's to be expected with the fan right there.

All in all, I like it, and have installed 3 of them so far.

The kit includes defroster ducts, but they are pretty much made for street rod applications. I just modified the stock ducts with 2 pieces of tubing soldered to a sheetmetal box. (not my best work... lol)

I have seen electric heaters in street rods.. no plumbing but I am not sure how well they work..

I have also seen a small unit that sits on the dash and is plugged into the cig lighter 12v deal.. just for defrosting.
