      Need Some Quick Help

I went and looked at a 94 silverado today and the wheels and tires are larger than stock. nothing was done to reprogram the odometer and tranny. Does this cause serious tranny damage and also with bigger wheels does that add miles or make it less miles than what is actually on the car. i need to let the guy know by tonight if i am going to take it so please if you can answer quick i would really appreciate it.
      Thank you
      Paul

Taller tire makes the speedo slow.

I have a 2003 GMC with 22s and 305/45/22 and my speedometer is 6 mph off. We figured a little less than the speedo says for actual mileage but very little.

If your speedo is off it also means that the odometer is off. Not that it matters much on a vehicle that age, but just keep that in mind.

The truck will have more actual miles on it than shown on the odometer.

I don't know if any damage can be done from hte programming now being off, but correcting the programming for the actual tire size/gear ratio will make it run better. (I never completely understood why.)
