      help please

      Hi I have just installed a set of headers and 2.5" dual exhaust. I noticed that there was a lot of smoke coming from the engine bay on the first start up. The headers are just painted black so is this normal?

      It probably just oil from your hands burning off. The paint will also smoke a little.

      There is a procedure for baking it the right way and goes something like this. Clean then with alcohol, install them, clean again then there are several hot and cold cycles you can do to prolong the coating. Your header manufacture may have something on a web site?
