I've never had an issue with the Mark VIII fans, why did it quit on you? Your first issue is proper shrouding and then it's time to deal with a fan. Whenever possible, I always swap to a serpentine setup because I prefer to run a reverse flow water pump and I always incorporate a water by-pass feature-never any cooling issue tis way. What kind of car are you working with here?

sorry for the lack of detail, it's a 70 chevelle ss 396, i have the painless fanthom relay kit part#764-30102, i think the thermo switch died, so i just put that plastic fan on for now.i didnt have a shroud that fit at the time, i do now but i'd rather use the mark viii fan.
