Got a friend who is going to build a 1970 Chevelle SS Convertible
With an after market frame he has been looking at the Schwartz and the RS Roadster shop frame.
We would like to here pros and cons on both. And if someone bought one can you tell us you experience with it

This car will have twin turbo LS motor and the best parts possible.
Can some one help us with pricing we need a lot of stuff. We were looking at the Nelson racing turbo headers and that cool manifold.
Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

I am sure you know this, but the RS frame is all DSE suspension parts, at least the front. It is basically a Camaro subframe on a full frame. I looked at it last year at GG Kansas, really good looking frame, however, very, very pricey. You can do all the same stuff with a stock frame, new suspension, plate it for strength, etc, at at least 1/2 the cost.

I sent an email to Jeff. Hopefully he will respond to this post. I have assembled a bunch of the SPC's and can tell you, as soon as I get a 2nd gen, I'm putting one under it!

Our chassis has teflon lined spherical rod ends at all suspension points for bind free operation. Contrary to common belief these top quality QA1 pices do not wear our pre-maturely or make noise. (cheap rod ends will make noise)
I just replaced one loose rod end on my Ultima GTR after 45,000 hard miles.
Our rolling chassis is 145# lighter than the stock rolling chassis and has 200% less torsional flex than the stock chassis. Standard rear end is the trick Winters unit with full floating 31 spline axles. Standard brakes are 6 piston 13" wilwood with 14" Baer Monoblocks optional. Ours was designed with maximum performance, minimal weight and reasonable cost in mind. The designer has designed racing chassis for years. If you compare our chassis and the features above to others, we compare very favorably. Especially in the weight.
We also have chassis in stock for all of the 10 models we sell, so no waiting.
Call me and I can give you references of guys who have running driving cars with our chassis.

Thank you for coming on the thread. Is that bar going over the motor necessary he is planning a twin turbo and we think that it would get in the way. Also will your twin turbo header work on his 1970 they look real good would they clear. Have you done a LS turbo on a 1970 can we get all the pars from you.

We will get the motor built but still need a lot of parts. What manifold would you recommend?

Jeff is at the Goodguys show this weekend. I wlll try to answer your question to the best of my ability. The bar helps to strengthen the shock/coilover hoops. It can be deleted but you should still use the cowl/firewall supports. Those attach behind the over engine bar and tie into gussets you have to install on the firewall. Again, this helps to strengthen the coilover mounting bars. We had to angle those bars outward for the first twin-turbo setup we did. The change has since been incorporated into all of the A-body chassis. It now clears a BBC with Nelson Racing headers for the twin setup. You should have plenty of room on a SBC or an LS based engine. The turbo manifolds you see are custom built and therefore, you can specify where you want the turbos (forwards or backwards on center)

I'm sure the actual position of the over engine bar can be customized to still fit over the engine with a twin setup.

I only hope I didn't screw up too bad in answering your questions!!!

We have had tremendous success with everything we have had done by Nelson Racing Engines.

We are awaiting custom headers for a TT BBC to go along with the engine that they are building. 2500+ HP.
