      Steering Flex Coupling -- Help

I removed the old steering box and flex coupling.
I bolted the new flex coupling to the steering column flange.
I mounted the steering box and fit it in the coupling.

      ...

Seems the bolt that holds the flange on the steering column side is rubbing on the housing when the steering column shaft turns... And... The flex coupling is visually not far enough down the steering box input shaft.

      Here is my question...

What is the best method to mate these things together? In what order should I put the parts on.

You need to place a screwdriver in the coupling and press it further down the shaft so that the set screw can mate in the groove around the shaft.

I think I need to install the flex coupling on the input shaft of the steering box FIRST, and then align the steering column flange to the bolts on the flex coupling.

      Is that correct?

I got it all connected. I needed to loosen the slip collar on the flange that's connected to the steering column. Since I banged it loose when I removed the old steering box it slid up the steering column a little bit.

Now one of my fittings on the steering box is leaking... LOL!
