      Going to visit DSE

I have a trip planned to Charlotte between Saturday and Tuesday. Talked to KC at DSE and plan on stopping in on Monday. Anybody been to their facility? What can I expect?

I hear its a good idea to wear a diaper or at least an extra pair of underwear and leave your wallet at home. LOL have fun.

I was fortunate enough to get the tour when my wife and I were in Charlotte last month. They have some really cool projects on the go right now - both public and private (I think Stuart fits into both of those catagories).

And I have to disagree with Mr. Quick - don't forget your wallet, it would suck to have to run back to get it.

Very neat and clean facility and the people are awesome. If Kyle or Stacy are there, they will probably give you the complete tour. A lot bigger shop than where they came from in MI, however you would not know with all the cars and parts!

If Kyle or Stay are there, expect two awesome people(at least)!

The good news is I do not have the means to bring anything home, the bad news, I ordered another shipment. It should beat me home. New pics will be on the way. Body work and minitubs next. Don't think I will get them done in 16hrs or 40hrs for that matter!

Yes definitely take some pics. I don't know if we ever got any real good visual information about their new facility since they moved in. And yes, they are both quality people and very accomodating. A real asset to our hobby.

      Back from DSE

Just got back from my visit to Mooresville and DSE. Got to meet Stacy and KC. Very nice people. The bad news is NO cameras(not camaros) in the facility! Kind of disapointed. But anyways, got to see the 3 camaros that they have on their web site. Pretty impressive! The shop was smaller than I had expected but they did not let me wonder into some closed doors either. For those of you interested their shop rate is only $60 hr which I did not think was too bad for a shop of that caliber. The bad news is they have a 3 year waiting list. I guess they are not going anywhere any time soon.
The only pics I have are of the barn that Days of Thunder was filmed in.

I'll have to get my Days of Thunder DVD out. How did you know that was it, is it labeled somewhere?

      Cool!

Hey, great shot of the front of the barn. I tried to get that shot but they piled a bunch of dirt in front of it. It really lookes like it is going to fall over soon. They really need to restore it.

I knew it was the barn from Day of Thunder because my buddy(the place I stayed at) is 1 block behind it. That barn is the cornerpost to a housing development! Imagine that in Mooresville!

And yes, Stacy was very insistant that NO pics were taken. I walked in with camera in hand. Not sure exactly why, any pics I would have taken(in the areas that they showed me) would have already been on their website?

One reason for the no picture policy is probably due to the customer not wanting any photos of their cars taken.
