It is a good feeling when you pay one off isn't it. There was a day I never paid them off, just kept trading and making payments. Then in the last few years I got a couple titles. Now I am down to one Truck payment, means I can do what Herb did. I go Vette fever something bad!

Actually, I'm taking that money and adding it to my mortgage payment...that is how the house gets done in 2 1/2 years.

Awesome Rubes. I paid my truck off last year in April. It didn't seem real. 5 long years. We're now in the process of paying off my wife's vehicle (4 more years). We wanna have only 1 car payment. When hers is paid off I'm getting a '04 Corvette. Oh yes...it will be mine.

From the irony dept....I have been driving the same 1995 Ram 1500 since Feb 1999, haven't made a payment on it since about Thanksgiving, '01, as I paid it off a little early. We paid off my wife's Grand Cherokee last fall, about six months early. I've long been a Dave Ramsey guy, for those of you familiar with his Financial Peace programs, and it is amazing how great it feels to have only a mortgage to pay each month. That being said....there's an '05 Ram 1500 Quad Cab with dealer tags sitting in my driveway right now.

I've been making car payments for the last 8 years (minus a few months). I keep trading and paying. I have a little more than 2 years to go on my Saturn I bought in '04

My problem is there are so many cars I want and so little time/money to get them. Fortunately, I only have two car payments, the Vette and our F150. The other four cars are ours free and clear!

Discovered him last year and its one of the best things to ever happen to me. No dept except the house as of a few months ago.

I am forced to have a nice new vehicle in my profession so I just lease a new one every 3 years and right it off!!! When I get out of this rat race, I'll definitely do the same. Congrats man. If it's a toy I hold the title or it doesn't get bought.

The most deprecation is in the first two yrs. Why not lease a two yr old car, still right it off( which means you might get 1/10th of it back) and most people won't know the difference.

Yep it's another Dave Ramsey fan .Haven't had a car payment for over 15 yrs! They seem to run better when they're paid off!!!!

Congrats guy. I took out a six year loan in 99 for my ram air TA. Looking back it is amazing what a really long time that is and what has happened in my life sinse(Not to mention how much I paid in financing). I am now car payment free and never want that again. I was 25 and stupid. My project is going slow but I am paying cash as I go.

Any car payment I could afford goes to my X. At least she spends it on my daughters.
