So, what is it going to cost to get that to Amsterdam with all of the fees and whatnot?

      I'm guessing many thousands?

I picked up my Bird in 2004 in LA in person and delivered at the shipper' place. The shipping co. handles the shipping and customs and such. I paid 1200 euros for the package.

The Netherlands must be a reasonable country compared to some of their neighbors, many years ago I talked to a guy that I think was from Finland that was taking a 1968 Corvette home and he said the duties and tariffs were going be like $18,000.

1200 was for shipping and handling. Forgot to mention I paid 4% duties on top of it. Just found out it has been changed to 6% now.
Comparing to the charges for finland it's peanuts.

Is that everything? If so, that is very reasonable. In most U.S. states (Not all, but those state residents usually pay in some other fashion) we have to pay sales tax of a similar if not higher rate when we buy a car (at the time of titling/registering).

That's everything concerning the export/import. But the goverment has there are other ways to make us pay. For example 1 gallon of gas cost us $9.96 !

It's still with the dealer in Fresno. We're taking care of the last documents.
