      Another Insurance Question

Hi all, I'm new here. I searched quite a bit, but I couldn't find exactly what I was looking for.

Some background... I've had my 68 Firebird since 96. It was my first car. Somehow convinced my parents to let me get it when I was 16. Unfortunately, it was never really that nice to begin with and has been sitting outside at my parent's house in Louisiana for the past 10 years. College and then work have gotten in the way. That being said, I finally brought it to Michigan this week and hope to start chipping away at it. The plan is basically a pro-touring setup, but that will come later.

So anyway, my main question is this, I want to insure it in case it gets stolen, vandalized, my garage burns down, etc. I know lots of people here use "agreed value" insurance providers like Haggerty and Grundy. However, my car is probably not worth a whole lot at this point. Does it still make sense to go with them? Are regular insurance companies just that hard to deal with, even in cases like this? I have USAA btw, if anyone has experience with them and an old car and can offer me insight.

My other question is, what do you guys think my car is worth? It's a 68, came with a 350 and auto. Nothing special really It currently still has a 350 (it even runs, though won't start at the moment), but not the original, has been repainted a few times (orginally gold), has no interior, and just generally needs a lot of work. Also, had a vinyl top on it when I got it and was swiss-cheesed from rust below it. Got a local shop to "fix" it back then. I'll have to determine just how they "fixed it" now that I'm a little older and more experienced. Anyway, just looking for ballpark mainly for insurance reasons.

      Here are a few pics.

      Thanks in advance,
      Ray A

Heh, thanks. One bid at 500, do I hear 1000?

My parents have had no shortage of people stopping by trying to buy it. They actually moved it to the backyard for that reason.

I probably should have posted this in the projects section. Sorry, mods. Feel free to move it.

Photoshop is fun...though I'm not that good at it yet.
