      By-Pass Oil Filters ?

Has anyone ever used a by-pass oil filter system like the ones from Amsoil or Frantz ?
They seem like a good idea.
The idea is that the oil is pumped through a separate circuit ( In addition to the regular route ) at a slower rate and is filtered much better like down to 1/10th of a micron.
So , theoretically the oil never gets dirty and you just change the micronic filter element and top off the oil at every oil change.
It seems like you would use a lot less oil in the long run.

I was always told that it was the acids and such that contaminated the oil that drives the oil change. I do know that they do something similar on large truck fleets.

Yeah , a lot of fleets use those types of filters.
I been reading up on this stuff and it seems like it would save a lot of money on oil.
And filter the engine oil better.
