      69 camaro wheels

putting a set of wheels on a 69 camaro. Stock suspension and brakes for now.
The sizes I'm using will be 18X8 front and 18X9.5 rear.
will 5" backspacing work on the front and 5 3/4 backspacing on the rear?
Thanks for your time and suggestions.
      Mike

That's the backspacing I have on mine , but I have 17" wheels.
      245/45/17 on the front and
      275/40/17 on the rear.

HOWEVER ! My rear tires sometimes scrub on the rear inner fender.
I have rear drum brakes at this time , but I plan to upgrade to rear discs.
I think the thickness of the disc brake flange is thicker than a drum , so the 5 3/4 " backspacing will work on the rear with disc brakes.

A lot of guys on this forum use a rear wheel with 5 1/2" backspacing .
      So get some more opinions.

I'd like to see a pic when you get them mounted. I am looking at doing the same combo on my stock susp. 69 Camaro.

I'll throw up some random shots... I still need to lower the rear more, but this may help you get the idea...

      18X9.5 - 5 3/4 in the rear
      18X8 - 5 in the front

Looks Good... Did you do any thing to the rear wheel wells or susp. to get the 9.5" wheel to fit. What size tires do you have front and rear? Thanks for the pics.

nope... i may roll the rear to get some extra clearance, but the 9.5's seem to fit with no issue.

I am running 275/40's on the rear and 235/40's on the front

everyone's avoiding the question! the 5 inch bs on the front is too much. you say 'stock suspension and brakes for now'. whether you have discs or not will be a factor. with an 8 inch wheel, you need 4 3/4 or 4 7/8 bs with discs. as for the rear, 5.5 is best. where are you getting these whacky numbers from?
