      Tire Pressure Monitoring Systems

Does anyone have experience with retrofit TPMS? I would like to include one in my current project. I've looked at the cheap Ebay units and the Hella and Orange.

Well, I went ahead and ordered the Hella TC400. I can give an update if anyone is interested.

I'm interested. I also want to use them on my project. I was planning on buying a kit from Summit, though I don't remember the brand.

Interesting idea, I'd like to see how it turns out.

I'm personally not a huge fan of TPM systems and the problems they cause in general. Maybe I'm biased because I deal with morons every day that can't or are just plain too lazy to check their tires on a regular basis and wonder why their tire pressure warning light is on when all 4 tires are 15 psi low. I suppose that I'm glad in a way that the government has made them a required feature on all new cars as it probably makes the road a safer place for all.

Good luck with it and be sure to show us what the install involves.

      Andy
