      Getting Close to Completion

This 3 year project is nearly complete. We bought this one owner 68 for $3,500 and it only needed quarters. I couldn't believe after sitting in a dirt floor shed for 20 years it didn't need floor pans. I took a weeks vacation last week to paint it. I used Dupont b/c Hot Lava used a 2004 Toyota Scion. The original color was corvette bronze and to me it's just a little dull, so we decided to use something with a little sparkle. I plan to start color sanding next week. Once this is done I'll finish assembling (emblems, handles, locks, etc..). It's been over 12 years since I color sanded my last car. I wet sanded with 1500, then 2000, then buffing compound, then polishing compound and finish up with a good swirl mark remover. Are there any new products out there now that may work better, faster, etc..? Once this project is complete I'll start back on my 69. I've had it over 4 years and is still on the rotisserie.

Yes & No! I can't wait to drive it to one of the local monthly cruise-in's, but until the new wears off I'll be a nervous wreck worrying about rocks and rain.
