      Caring for Fresh Paint

Soo last year my dads camaro came out of the body shop after 2 long years and excessive amounts of money spent. The body is laser straight and it sat in its own area of the shop while we did the final assembly. When I was gone at school my half assed keeping it covered and now there is alot of dust and crap all over it . A dust mop just doesnt do enough, what do I do?

You'll need to wash the car initially. The only suggestion would be that you never hose the car with a powerful stream. I have one of the variable spray nozzles and use the "mist" or something similar to that type of spray. Wet the car down thoroughly prior to sponging it down with car wash soap.

There are a lot of great car wash supplies available these days, soft wash mits, car wash liquds with wax formulation. Perhaps you may consider doing a search on products that are to your liking. After drying the car - apply a good car wax/sealant of your choice.

      Good luck!

Check out www.GriotsGarage.com for an incredible selection of car care stuff.

Use a lot of wax friendly soap to lube it and suspend the dust, not dish soap and a really good new mitt.

But like Alchemist said, don't try a dustmop on a filthy car. They're for a day at the show where a layer of dust settles a day or two after a thorough wash.

      Good luck!
