      Hello from Afghanistan

Well I have been over here about 7 weeks now and I am disappointed to report that I am laid up in a hospital already. I had a small incident that ended up leaving me with a broken ankle, torn ligaments and tendons (probably will require surgery) and a few small toe/foot bones and mashed pretty good. I opted to stay out here and finish since I am ahead of schedule and will finish up sooner than expected, but I will be limited to hopping along on crutches.

At any rate, I think I will soon have the money I need to get Frank working on my car again (sorry for the delay Frank and Lisa) I will see if he can post some pictures once we get moving again. Things stagnated a bit when I suddenly ran out of cash, gotta love when the Navy screws up your pay, but it is never their fault, plus my wife kinda blew a gasket when she saw what I was doing (oops)... oh well the Navy is slowly straightening out my pay and I hope to have Prodigy paid up and back on top of things here very soon. Thanks for all the emails of support, I am fine and will be back up and running in a couple months.

      Regards,
      George

Just like a Squid - tripping over the latrine and injuring himself in a combat zone.

Stay low and stay safe. We are heading down to Annapolis this weekend so I'll drink a beer for ya in Middletons Tavern and McGarveys.

Were cool George, We just put FlyingBlind in storage until you recover both financially and physically. Now Stacy, that is who you need to be worried about. I think if I were you I would see if I could exteend my tour until she cools off!

I would say stay safe again, But I guess you already blew that!

      Seriously, take care.

Thanks guys, I am recovering slowly, I am hoping to be mobile on my own (without crutches) within 2 weeks. I can say that I did not get this way tripping on my way to the latrine (haha), kinda wish I had. Thanks for all the offers for sending stuff out, but it looks like we will wrap up our operation over here early and so anything you guys sent would probably get here either just before I left or just after. But I do appreciate the offers.
Luckily this trip was just to support a command that was only scheduled to be here about 4 months, and since they are almost finished we may only be here for a total of 3 months. Nice. Still makes 9 months in country over the last 14 months, so needless to say I am ready to come home and enjoy the summer a bit.
See you guys soon, I hope to see some of you in the MD area, oh btw, McGarveys and Middleton's are two of my favorites, don't forget O'Briens and Ram's Head, and whatever they renamed Griffin's as.

      -George
