new Daily Driver, what would you do with it??

just thought i'd post up a couple of pics of my new DD. its a 54 2 door sedan. currently a 350/700r4. runs out pretty good. thinkin about baggin it. not sure what else i want to do with it. any one here with some old iron have some cool ideas? i still have some parts left over from an old 53 project i had. i have a frenched headlight kit, some wide whites, and maybe a few other things. just got the AC charged up the other day, and it blows cold. gotta love that.

4 inch chop, frenched head and tail lights, more grille teeth, EFI, 4 wheel disc brakes, and bags. go 50's sled on the outside, complete with metalflake, and comfortable modern stuff underneath. best of both worlds.

oh, and they make an EFI setup that looks like a trio of stroburg 98's, just to continue with the vintage vibe.

at least thats how i have a 54 pictured in my head, and have for years.

Stuff a 5.3 with a 4l60E into it. Don't be in a big rush though, it looks like you will get some cool cruizing out of it even with the 350/350. Just keep your eyes and ears open, maybe a 5.3 pull out will drop into your lap.
Other then that, maybe some updated suspension and brakes. Leave the body alone, it looks plenty cool as is.

thanks guys. i'd love to have it chopped/channeled/frenched and bagged, but i think i might stick with the smaller/cheaper mods. from what i've found, it would cost a couple grand to do the bag setup right. atleast if i stick to the smaller mods, i'll have more to try and finish my camaro. who knows, i might have enough to do bags when my camaro's done. i like the idea of the lake pipes, i'll have to check in to a set. the interior is already done, with the exception of a stereo. i'll see about getting a couple more pics tomorrow.

Since you don't want to pull out all the stops I'd put an overdrive trans in it and call it good.

its not that i don't want to pull out all the stops, its just that i need to finish one project first, and since this one is already a nice driver, it makes it that much harder to not want to go crazy with it. anyway, a little more info on the car. the trans in it now is a 700r4 aod trans. it has a 350 which is carbed right now. it has a mustang II front end with disk brakes. the suspension has been rebuilt with new coils and leafs. the interior is not too shabby as well. it has power front seats, ac, power steering, power brakes, and a radio that looks like it came from the 60's/70's. that will definately need to be changed. it is a real comfortable car and rides out nice. it actually stops pretty good too.

      here's a couple more pics...

Sorry, I overlooked in your initial post that it said 700r4. My recommendation is to drive the wheels off it as is at least until you finish your current project.

The only thing I'd even consider changing would be to change the engine over to EFI. Otherwise, it's awesome.

thanks for the props. i was thinking about EFI as well, but again, it may be a little while before i get to that. after seeing the photchops that ALLKAR did, i don't know if i can hold out on air ride or not. i may just have to go a little further into debt

who knows, if i can find a good enough deal on a complete EFI conversion for a decent price, i may be able to swing something.

i also forgot to mention that this car was bought instead of buying a new car. i think i made the right decision. not only was it cheaper than a new car, it won't loose value as bad as a new one. funny thing is that the wife thought it was a better idea to buy this than a new car...
