Brake line flaring

As I understand there is diffrent flare types old one and metric/ bubble flare. Anuone have pics or tell the diffrence. BTW is the S10 master having old or new flares ?

S10 master cylinder from the 1980's are all inverted flares at the ports IIRC. You didn't specify a year, but I assume you must be using the stepped bore unit for your C5/LS1 upgrade?

Bubble flares are essentially an inverted flare that hasn't had the bubble "inverted" onto itself.

I'll see if I can't turn up a good link or picture with a schematic showing the differences.

Are you using the quick take up S10 MC? Will you have manual or power brakes?

I have a Cardone 10-1905 have machined it to fit Hydraboost. I'm little worried if this is a power or manual master. I was told it is a power unit. Anyone have a cross reference list. The GM Delco power is # 18M310

The manual MC is an ACD #18M309 and has 24mm x 31.75mm stepped bores.

The power MC is an ACD #18M310 and has 24mm x 34mm stepped bores.

My experience is with the manual unit, but I would think that the power unit in a manual application would just result in a slightly higher pedal due to the larger primary bore, otherwise braking effort should be equivalent due to the equal secondary bores.

I am very pleased with the pressure that is being generate at the caliper and with the effort. I think it will work great.
