      Bad weekend...

I haven't really mentioned my latest project on the Camaro. I have some Brodix -8 heads that I used to run when I was circle tracking back in the day. I was running my '292 Chevy castings on the SB400 but they had some small cracks that were pressuizing the cooling system and blowing out all the water. I took the Brodix heads in to have them set up. The machine shop didn't pressure test them because the heads were already cleaned and surfaced and they looked ready to assemble... I should have had them test them. I got the engine all ready to run and added the water last and as I walked around to start it I noticed water dripping out the exhaust pipe. I pulled the plugs and had water in #8. Now I gotta pull a head... Grrr

Well... Last night was good. As I started to pull the engine apart. I took out the header bolts and water started to drip from the #8 port area. When I got the header pulled back I noticed the water was coming out of the stock bolt hole for the #8 cyl. I have Stahl headers so I wasn't using the Chevy pattern. Two allen screws and some thread sealer later the leak was fixed! Ok... I'm Dutch! I put it all together and it started right up. Not a leak to be found, nor were there any bubbles in the radiator! It sounds a little different than it did before. I can't wait to drive it and see how much faster it is. I'll attach a pic of the new heads...

Thanks! I took it out last night for a spin. Wow! It ran like a raped ape! I can't even think about hooking up in first. It feels a lot faster than the vette. I'll have to take it to the track and see how it does.
