Mounting Electic Fuel Pump ?? First Gen ??

I have a Holley HP150 fuel pump that I want to mount this weekend. My dad mounted his to the fuel tank strap and I have seen others doing the same. I'm just wondering if anyone else has done something different and/or if anyone knows of a "mounting kit" that someone might be selling...

      ??

As far as I can tell, you have one choice. Somewhere between your fuel tank and rear end housing. I was thinking bracket from the trunk pan or fuel tank straps for mine as well. You could always order a 1500 dollar ricks tank and wait until fall. hahahaha

LOL! $1500 eh... Ummm I will pass on that one bro.

Yeh, looks like fuel strap. I just gotta fabricate (hack up) a piece of metal to mount to the strap and then mount the fuel pump to that. This outta be fun.

You can't mount it lower than the frame or you could rip it off if you ran over something. The hp 150 pumps are pretty large. There is no place to put it but between the tank and rear safely.

Here are some crappy pics. The pump is mounted on the passenger side frame rail on the inner side forward of the axle.

EDIT: Ok pics should work now.

Thanks for the picture. Looks like your pump is mounted horizontal. The Holley pump I bought said to mount it vertical so I am not sure that would be an option for me... Plus... How the hell did you drill holes in the frame rail up there to mount it?? LOL... That must have been hard man!

I ended up mounting mine right above the fuel tank. Its in a vertical position but it's not at 90 degrees, more like 65-70 degrees. I had to put 4 holes through the trunk pan, but I used nice looking allen bolts so it looks pretty decent.

As you can see the fuel filter is mounted right by it as well...

Not sure if anyone cares, but here is a picture...

Ah yeah that pump wouldn't work in that location lol.

I have a ricks tank to go in someday to hopefully cut down on the noise of having an external pump.
