What cam do I have?
OK,
I know if you pull the timing cover off and the gear you can see a cam number on a cam, but I was wondering if it was possible to know what kind of cam may be in my motor without going through the hassle of ripping everything off the front including the seal to the oil pan. Is there a way to calculate what kind of cam is in the motor another way? Know it is not stock and cant find any info from the last guy I bought it from.

You need a degree wheel and the kit that goes with it. Then you can measure the lift and the duration of the cam. You may be able to do it with the heads installed. I think you can, at least.

the cam numbers are on the back of the cam anyway, so itll have to come out to see them. well every cam ive ever messed with anyway has had them on the back.

Degree wheel and some math
OK,
So How do I go about it with a degree wheel and some math? I have never done this before so please be as specific as possible.
