      TBI sizing w/ single turbo

Can a 2 barrel TBI unit (2") with 68 lb or 75lb injectors handle fuel delivery requirements for a small block chevy 327 bored .030 over using a single turbo at 7 to 9 psi ?

I'm thinking I may need to upgrade the TBI unit, or switch to another type of injection. I'm looking to make about 450 HP.

I was looking at your other post. I think that if your setup was blow-thru You'd have enough airflow, the draw-thru might hold you back. With a blow-thru carb, it act like a much bigger size than it is, under boost.

      2 x 75lb injectors enough for ~400 to 500 hp ?

Good point on the increased air flow from blow through. Makes total sense. I have budgeted the parts to switch to blow through. Less lag results I've read.

But, can 2 x 75LB injectors shoot enough fuel for a boosted application in the 400 to 500hp range ?

And, are TBI units sometimes swappable without changing the ECU and harness ?

Based on the EFI FAQ, my injectors are too small.

Now to see if I can find a compatible, larger 4 BBL TBI, or perhaps I'll run 2 of the 2 BBL TBIs that I have. Either that, or I'll have to spend 3K on a MPI system with more fuel capacity, or go back to a carb solution that can handle a blow through application.

I saw some promising info on www.thirdgen.org that might help.

www.injectors4u.com has 90 lb/hr injectors, and I think TBIChips has a pressure modulating FPR and high pressure pump these can deliver about 125% of rated feed.

      I/m putting together a 375 horse 383 w/ a 2 bbl TBI. Running 90lb injectors, and boosted regulator to about 110 lb/hr.

TBI's are swappable , but you need to change the chip or change to a flash memory

      Decided to go MPI

Some of the feedback I've gotten, leads me to believe I'm not going to be happy using a TBI w/ turbo boost.

So, I've decided to sell the TBI system (sadly unused) I bought years ago, and go the MPI route.

Thanks for the advice though !

      Mike
