      Newbie in Sacramento

      Hi Everyone,

I am a new guy to the forum but I have been around muscle cars forever. I built and finished my first pro-touring camaro back in 1996 and it was a 1970 RS Camaro.

It was a awesome ride and the bad part is that it got taken from me in a divorce settlement in 1999.

Well after ten years I am back to building a new one. I just picked up a 1972 RS Camaro and starting to plan out the build.

I am looking forward to chatting and talking with everyone.

Here is some pics of the new project:

It definately has some issues but I have seen worse.

      Thanks, Nelson

Here is a pic of my first Pro-Touring car I finished back in 1996.

It was a 1970 RS Camaro with a 406cid small block with a Edelbrock Multi Port fuel injection system,Aluminum Heads, Roller Cam, etc.
      5speed Manual Trans.
Street and Performance serpentine belt system.
      Koni Shocks
      Global West Bushings and Springs
      1LE Front Brakes
1979 Transam Rear 10bolt with Disc Brakes with a 3.73 Posi.
17x8 Front and 17x9.5 rear billet wheels
      Plus a lot more.

I built this before there was a lot of people doing the whole Pro-Touring thing. Loved t his car and hated to give it up. I always stopped everyone in there tracks.

      I live in Sacramento/ELk Grove....

Full Pro-Touring setup. 18" wheels, Supercharged LS1 with 6speed, full suspension modes, corvette brakes, etc. Very nice street driver, not a show queen.

Just got the engine in the car running and it sounds pretty good for now. It is a SBC with gear drive,HEI, 750 holley and headers. Pretty much old 80's setup in the car now.

We spent the other day and stripped the car. The fabricator should be out in the next day or two to do the floor and trunk replacement. Bought everything from Jim Dyer in Stockton. Better prices then the old Chevyland.

Going to paint it Estoril Blue from the 1996 thru 1999 BMW M3.

sounds like a good plan...Jim Dyer is good resource, he really knows his stuff as I used him for good portion of my build as well.
