      Front runner comparision

      I had my mind made up and I was going to call Lisa today with my invoice number to order the black anodized front runner setup by Vintage Air. Well, I hit a slow spot in the day so I started flipping through my summit magazine and I found a front runner setup put together by GM Performance parts. I am now trying to decide if I want to pay $1900 for the Vintage Air or $800 for the GM setup. I am really wanting to stay with the black look, I really don't want that much "bling" under the hood. But, I do want the compact look with nice lines. I don't want to pop the hood and somebody ask if the front runner setup is off of a 94' Chevy pickup, but $1100 would be money well spent else were on the car. So, if anybody has an opinion or pics of the GM kit on there car that would be greatly appreciated. Here are links to both;

      I may be wrong, but I think the GM setup is just the 3rd gen Camaro TPI setup that you can pick up in a junkyard.

      I have a black powder coated GM serp system. Bought it at the swap meet along with the pulleys (red powder coated). The red is lame but the brackets are cool. If you are serious I will sell them to you, just change out the pulley color. Pay what I payed plus shipping and they are yours....save you money finding them in a junk yard and powder coating. Or, you can do that too... Let me know. I can get you a pic so you have an idea as well.

      A guy I work with just installed one of those setups on a 396 and for the money, I think it's a pretty nice setup. Of course it doesn't have the bling factor, but it looks and feels like it'll last forever! I guess you can find something similar in a junkyard but you have to make sure you get everything that goes with it to make it work and you're getting used components. At least the GM kit comes with new a/c comp, alt, w/p, p/s pump, idler, and instructions.
