Ordered New Rushforth "Strutter" Design for My Ride

Well I went to DriverzInc and ordered a set of Rushforths for my Tempest. The wheel design is brand new and hasn't even been named yet. Although I gave them the suggestion of calling the new wheel design "The Tempest". From what Jon told me I should be the first person running this Rushforth wheel design.

[Edit 3/28/08] The 5 spoke design will be called "Strutter" and the 7 spoke will be called "Whiplash".

Here is a picture of the design rendering. This picture is of the 7 spoke version, the set they are building for me will be a 5 spoke with a polished lip, brushed spokes (powder coated in clear) and rivets surrounding the wheel.

Jon, at DriverzInc was kind enough to pull the back wheel of his 66 Chevelle to make sure it would work on my 67 Tempest. We had to adjust the backspacing an additional 1/4" to make sure it clears.

Here are the specs for the wheels:
      19x8 4.75 backspace
      20x10 6.25 backspace

Here are the specs for the tires:
      245/35/19
      285/30/20

Here's the pics of the design rendering and a couple pics of the test fit of Jon's wheel on my car. The jack was still a bit in the up position, so it'll sit much lower when I get the real deal.

Thanks again Jon for the hookup!!!!

      Johnny

Thanks for your business and your enthusiasm, Johnny! We're stoked to have our wheels on your ride and glad to have you joining us for Del Mar next week.

And Johnny will be rolling the new wheels to the show 2 weeks after he ordered them!

You are absolutely killing me with that 2-wk turnaround time Jay...unheard of in the custom wheel business.

Here I am staring at a 12 week timeframe from order date to delivery date...and I'm dying over here with jealously man.

Right now everything is stock in terms of suspension. I have made no modifications. Although I'd like to put a full air ride suspension on it eventually.

Take it easy on us man, our nice Craftsman Jack took a big ol Sh#! and all we had was the cheap back up jack from Harbor Freight that I carry around in the back of my truck just in case I'm on the road and need to measure a customer's car.

Thanks again Johnny for your enthusiasm, your vision, and your willingness to rock a new design of ours. Very cool.

3 week build time guys! We're forcing the industry to step up!

No problem at all Jon. You made it easy for me when you test fitted your wheel on my car. How's the saying go.... "and the rest is history".

Yup, right now we're running 3 weeks to build. Johnny's car is cruising down to DelMar with us, so we pushed a little harder to cut it down to 2 weeks and a few days.

So yes, that is starndard build time right now.

And like all our designs is available with or without hardware in the perimeter for folks who like a simpler look.

The wheel looks awesome!!!! I see some of the minor design changes from the original concept and I think it adds to the total look of the wheel.

And thanks to Jon I have some work to do this weekend.
He asked me to clean things up behind my wheels so it looks nice when we put the new ones on.

PM sent with price quote for polished 2 piece 19s and 20s but since there are so many sizes and finish options, it's always good to contact us directly for an exact quote. Nobody's trying to do the high pressure sales game, it's just that giving custom wheel prices is like a paint shop giving custom paint prices.
