      Intake Leak

This weekend I installed a set of bowtie phase 3 heads and a new XE284 Comp cam in my 383 SBC. When I started it and set the idle up to 2200 RPMs to start the cam break-in I noticed the intake gasket was leaking on top of the intake runners. I re-torqued the intake bolts and it stopped for about 5 mintues then started back. When I pulled the intake (RPM Performer) I noticed the gasket was squeezed at the bottom, but never touch the top of the gasket. When I compaired the angle of the intake and the heads I found they were nearly 1 degree difference. The heads were at a 34 degree angle and the intake was just a little under 35 degrees. Has anyone had an issue like this? The only thing I know to do is to cut the 34 degree on the intake flange.

      Thanks for any help,

      Jim
