The Grape Ape - 74 AMX

Time to post up my new project. I'm fixing this up as I go, since it is a good running driving car. The interior is beat and it's got some rust issues with the floorboards and inner rockers, but nothing I can't fix with the welder and some time. Once the Patriot Dream Camaro is done I'm gonna do some cool stuff to this thing.

Here is is when I bought it a few weeks ago:

And then I decided to mock up my Autometer Phantoms in the bezel. We're going to custom make a black bezel that fits them more smoothly and evenly.

And then finally, a sneak peek of my new wheels. I'm going to take some better shots on Saturday, so I'll post them when I get those done. Weld Pro stars - 15x8 in the front 3.5"bs w/245/60/15 BFG Radial TAs and 15x10 in the back 4.5" bs w/ 295/50/15 BFG Radial TAs.

I always said I'd do one of those cars... I actually considered trading my Mach for one many years ago. The flares on the fenders are just begging to be slammed over a set of huge wheels and tires.

I would drive it exactly as is! That thing is perfect. I love it.

My parents had a red Javilen when I was a kid. The AMXs are cool cars, and getting much harder to come by.
