      Hood hinge mod

After seeing the various new billet hinges out there. And they are very nice, and pricey. I was cuurious about modifying my stock hinges. Has anyone ever taken their hinges apart, coated them, then reassembled them?? Just curious what you did to put them back together. I assume you can just grind off the rivets to take tnem apart. But the reassemble process is the big question.

I was looking at removing my springs and using a shock like these billet ones do. My hood is not fiberglass but also not 100% metal. It has a metal frame with a fiberglass top. So the weight is in between the two.

      Any thoughts ???
