      Opinion on modding DSE LCA

Just purchased dse speed kit II with the understanding they were not easy to adjust but did perform very well. What I would like to do is cut the bottom of the cup where the coil over mounts to.. Then have a 5/8 x 5/8 ring machined, tapped and welded to lca flush where I cut the plate from. Then bolt the shock plate to the machined ring.(using grade 8 bolts/locking nuts) This would allow you to pull the plate/shock and adjust very easy. Does any body see any negatives other than a slight weight gain to LCA. Hopefully I can talk to Kyle next week. If any body would like I can post pics tomorrow.

If you can have the threaded ring on the inside of the LCA and have the two plates sandwich the existing LCA landing I think it would work fine.

But checking with the boss is a good idea too.

I've seen a few low rider guys do the same thing years ago.

      JamesJ,

No, to be honest with you my wife is prego, dads boat is in the garage and I've been working 65hr weeks. Project has gotten slow. I did talk to DSE and they said off the record guys have done this in the past and it works but obviosly they could not back it up without running it through finite testing? I did do some more measuring and I believe the ring will have to be closer to 5/8x5/8. They make such a nice product but I feel it needs a little tweaking. I will post as soon as I can.
