      Speed Tech C4/C5 brake Brackets

I just picked up a pair of these from a third party. They are in good shape with all the hardware. I tried to mock them up on my a-body spindle and found that the top bolt is a couple of threads to long and the bolts included in the kit for the steering arm one is too short to use at all and the other is about 1/2 and inch to long. Has anybody else experienced this?

Most kits will include a spacer to make up the space depending if you have a drum or disc spindle.

The arms use different length bolts. Just swap till you get an even thread legnth.

I have a drum spindle, the steering arm mount and the boss at the top of the spindle a parallel to each other, and no spacers came in the kit. The instructions that came with the kit are dated 2006 so maybe the kit has changed since this one was originally purchased. The bolt for the top is only a couple of threads too long, I already have a bottoming tap on the way to fix it. The way the a-body steering arm is made I can only use the 3 1/2 inch bolt out of the kit and it is 1/2 an inch to long. The other bolt in the kit is too short to get the nut to lock. I will have to use the original or find some the correct length. I was just wondering if anybody else had used this and if they had the same problem. If I had an for x-body the steering arm bolts would not be a problem (difference between front and rear steer cars), the top bolt may be depending on how deep the boss was tapped.

Sounds like you have a bolt kit for an F or X body. I know they are different length. I assumed Chevelles where the same.

You can just shorten the upper bolt of add a few spacers.
