Converting '69 Firebird to Camaro steering??
Has anyone done this, or could verify if a straight pitman arm (Camaro style) would clear my Pontiac engine with headers? The idler arm is straight on the Firebird like the Camaro, so I'm assuming no issue there. Clearance looks ok at a glance. The main difference I've found is that the bird used a curved pitman arm to clear the factory manifolds.
Also, could anyone verify that the front subframe is essentially the same? I'm assuming a Camaro idler arm would bolt up to the same location as the Firebird part??
I've been told I can use the commonplace aftermarket parts for a '69 Camaro as long as I replace the centerlink (drag link) with a Camaro part (and possibly a '67-8 Firebird part), and pitman arm.
Thoughts?

Did you make this change? I just realized that the ATS front suspension setup I bought a while back will not work with the 69 Firebird center link and am currently pondering what to do.
Thanks
