Tire/wheel sizes for handling
'71 Firebird lowered about 2 inches with Hotchkis suspension. I'm going to 18" wheels and tires around 27" tall. I'm looking for help on the width - front and back. What provides the best handling and street performance?
Wide all the way around, perhaps 275/40/18?
Not so wide but same all around, 255/45/18?
Decent in front and wide in back, 245/45/18 and 285/40/18?
Does a wide tire in front cause any handling problems? If so, how wide starts causing problems?
