      Koni part number

Forgive me if this is repeat, but I didn't find it in a couple of searches. Does someone have the Koni Part number for the shocks in Mini Tubbing a 69 Camaro? Any options?

How can you find a shock based upon dimensions or something other than entering the stock info like year, make and model. That doesn't work if you don't use the stock part or have modifications.

      Thanks in advance.

Yes, I'm aware of DSE selling the shock. But what is the Koni part number? What are the dimensions, fully extended and fully compressed and where can I find a web site that gives me options.

Yes, I can follow the crowd, but if I want to modify your suspension, I'd like to be able to find the right part or other shocks to match the front suspension.

Also, if I stay with that shock, is DSE the only option? Do they exclusive selling rights to that part number with Koni?

OK, here's what I found out. Koni part number 30-7325.
The 30 is for the style of shock. Its in the Oval / Racing catalog.
the 7325 is broken down by the 7 being the length of travel of the shock. The 3 is the Compression and the 25 is the 2 to 5 settings of the (what do you call it ...) the rebound travel. Im going from memory from looking it up 2 days ago.

Now if you look at the Koni cataloge (I was using the online PDF version) they do have 5, 6, 7, 8, and 9 inch travel. But the oval guys use the 7 and 9. So the 8 is not an "in-stock" shock, but a custom one.
So you would want to stay with the 7 or 9 if you want to keep the cost down. Koni guy was very helpful on the phone!

Also with the part number determined, I found a web site that posted a conversion for Bilstein and two other types, but like I said, i'm running on 2 day old memory. I think I'll stay with the Koni's.

NOTE!!! If you don't pull up the DSE full Mini tub kit and read that its a 2" or 3" drop, you might start assembling parts thinking its only a mini tub conversion and then find out its NOT all stock. So if your custom shop follows the instructions and you have stock parts like springs, you have a big gap. So either don't mount the new shock mount tube so high, de arch your springs, or buy different shocks. I'll have to wait now till I get everything back on the ground and assembled or weight simulated and determine the best course of action. Hope this saves someone else some time....
