      Great wife

how many of you guys have a wife that helps out?
mine does. case in point: i picked up an $800 car for a family member yesterday. running and driving car. really, really nasty. like call the exterminator nasty. we really only could barely tell that the interior used to be tan, and the exterior used to be green. but i drove it all over town yesterday with no real major problems. so i go out in the driveway today to start cleaning and lubing window tracks to see if i can finagle the motors into working again, as well as replace a bunch of fuses that someone pulled out, fix the trunk lock, etc. my wife comes out not too long after me in one of my work shirts and a bandanna, armed with rubber gloves, upholstery cleaner, Castrol Superclean, and a shop vac and proceeds to work on the interior for the last few hours. she never complained, and only asked for help when she needed to remove the seats cause she couldnt get the lock washers off to get to the bolts. and then she even says: now the first round is done. i can really start on it tomorrow. hell, i think it already looks good enogh to drive anywhere.

another time in the building of my duster, she comes out to the garage, looks at me fighting with the foil backed just and carpet, and says: go away. ill come and get you if i need you. she finished all of it on her own while i worked on her Saturn.

I love my wife. anybody elses do that kind of stuff?

i just think its wonderful that the women in our lives (for the most part) at least tolerate our addiction and sometimes help out. makes for a much more balanced relationship in my mind.and her helping is payback for the southern christmas show/ballet/going to hang out with her little brother/.....

its all about give and take.

Sometimes I wish my old lady was a little more proactive with my hobbies. Most of the time I am glad she is a girly girl and understands my guy time.

      Very cool.

My wife doesn't give me a hard time about all the time I spend in the garage or about the $$ I spend on the car.

It would be very cool if she wanted to help (she has no interest), but I still feel like I have it made.

Any wife or gf that helps with the cars is awesome and rare.

My wife only asks when I'm coming back in the house. I do give her credit for doing a ton of dirty work at the rental properties. Nothing worse than cleaning up somebody elses filth. When we purchased, there were tons of live and dead cockroaches. She's a real trooper and paints too. If I could only get her to clean my car like that.

When I am working in the garage, my wife will come out just to say "hi" and see how things are going, but she doesn't help unless I specifically ask her to.

However, we detail cars on the side during the summer and she really jumps in and helps out with that. Typically, we both wash the outside and while I am buffing the paint, she will clean the interior and detail the wheels (she really likes a challenge).

She is also really cool about how much I spend on the Nova. She actually prefers NOT to know the exact amount I spend. That is how she avoids the opportunity to get upset.

I think a lot of the reason she is like this is because her Dad and Brother are both into old cars and she grew up around them.

Mine recently told me that I needed a new project. I said "I know, I'm going to start on that fence I've been promising you soon"..She said "No, I am talking about a new hot rod project"! Soooo, I guess I better start hunting me a new project to build.

My wife Jill helps a little in the garage but she wants her own project. When the camaro is done and we have the money she wants to find a 66-67 fairlane or comet. She wants to do most of the work on it and she know's she wants a big block and auto. Cool part? She wants to do it low buck!

I am pretty lucky. Lisa and I were in 9 degree weather in central Michican picking up a car that was in pieces and had to be temporary asembled for shipping. The customer and I were BSing, and all of a sudden we here a ratchet, and Lisa is getting things ready.

I am not sure what her motive was, but I think it was to get into the heated truck ASAP and head south!

When we were dating, she helped wet sand my Trans Am.

At this point in life, just her support and non-interference is great. And the occasional help me carry something. LOL.

Last night I'm out in the garage doing nothing useful. She comes out and says 'you should buy a new Camaro when they come out'. I ask what brings this up. She says 'I was just flipping channels and saw auto show footage. They showed the red camaro and it looks cool'.

      My wife kicks ass.

I have a wonderful wife, but a car girl, she ain't. She told me not to be offended that she didn't like my '79, she dislikes all "those kind" of Camaros.

Mine does not get involved to much with the work on the car but she will buy the parts on her own that she thinks I should have or that I have mentioned to her in he past . recently I mentioned that i would like to have another second gen (like my first car which was a 73 RS) and she said to find one and start building little by little. I guess she's a keeper!
