      Car vs. Motorcycle

      http://www.flixxy.com/car-vs-motorcycle.htm

I'd always wondered about how a sports car would compete against a motorcycle. Here's a 911 vs. a Yamaha R1. Interesting stuff.

Wow I didn't realize bikes were that much slower through the corners.

A bike can not go much beyond one G in a turn. There's no down force. It's all up to the tires. It really depends on the track as to which is faster. Anything with a lot of straights and high speed turns will be ruled by a bike usually. The tighter or more plentiful the turns, advantage car

Yeah I sent that to a friend of mine who is an avid sport bike guy, and his response was similar to WS6's. He said that the contact patch for bike is something like a size 12 shoe. Compare that to your 315's (or 335's if you're a Corvette)...

Interesting stuff. As always... will depend on the driver. I'm sure I don't have the bajangas to go through some of those corners as fast as the Porsche did (well... if it were MY Porsche).

Yup, considering you're hitting the corners and rubbing next to a guy on two wheels – ballzy indeed!!

Just another take on the debate. I also like how they ran the course at different times in this one.

I know this is the wrong board to defend motorcyles, but somebodys gotta..lol I follow Motogp and have the upmost respect for those guys. I have been an avid motorcycle rider for over 10 years so I feel the need to defend. I'm sure the guy vid reason for not wanting to ride the bike has nothing to do with hetrosexuallity, ( From hearing him talk, I really doubt that). Im sure its more of the fact that he is a big ol vag.

The biggest thing for me is the cost. You can buy a new literbike for around $10,000. that will net ya 185hp with only 380lbs of weight. Also getting ya 0-60 in under 3 secs, and an upper 9 second quarter mile pass all while getting 40 plus mpg and being totally stock.

Also, I will never in my life be able to afford a high performance porche or lamborgini. So bikes are a good pill for the need for speed.

anyway, its pretty clear that on any given day, depending on the track and the rider/driver, either one could win.

Non the less, very intersting stuff...
