      Nice scam Chevelle on EBAY

I usually dismiss these as a scam right away but I went ahead and bit and little since the town listed is 50 miles from me and I could do a deal in person. Its not your typical 5000.00 for a matching number LS6. $15,000 is still cheap but with some people needing cash right now I thought why not check in to it. I emailed both through EBAY and direct to the email listed for a phone number so I could arrange to see the car.

So I get two messages back

      through ebay-
      Dear gearheads78,

I don't know why my name is on this car, I don't have a car for sale!

      from email-
      Hello there,
Thanks for your inquiry regarding my beautiful Chevelle, still available for sale at the $15000 price.
Few words: I don't know where to start describing this custom 1969 Chevelle Pro Touring. This beauty is class, luxury and just ridiculous levels of kinetic output all rolled up into one super exotic pro-touring custom Chevelle. She's got a Shafiroff 540 cubic inch motor that delivers 550 HP at the rear wheels through a Tremek TKO 600 tranny and a Moser 12-bolt rear with 1:3.73 gears. And with Strange 4-wheel power discs, she can stop as quickly as she can go. All her metal is original and she is a nuts and bolts, body-off restoration of a never rusted, never hit car. She has a custom exhaust from headers to tailpipe fabricated to fit nice and tight underneath for her lowered stance. Her sound is no joke, either. You'll find the Alpine head, 2 amps, 2 subs and Satellite radio easily competes with the roar from some 550 pissed off horses! 15000 miles run it , PERFECT CONDITION! NO ACCIDENTS! CLEAR TITLE! Where are you located?
The reason why I'm selling it is a divorced settlement.....
I am very mad on this situation by I don't have any options...
I will only conclude the transaction through eBay for our own protection.
They act as a neutral third party.
If you have any further questions please do not hesitate ask
      Best Regards

You would think after all the years these guys have been scamming they would be smart enough to not make canned responces.:bsjerk:

The scammers keep trying because you know what they say, "there is a sucker born every minute."

What's fun to do is really get these guys going..I had one last year that "had a 69 Camaro in a warehouse at the docs in NYC" Only $5000. fully restored. So here we go, I emailed him and told him that I had the cash money and would fly to New York and pay him in $100 bills. He then told me that wouldn't be necessary that the $5000 included shipping. I told him I had relatives there and I wanted to visit anyway it would be no problem, (not really, but he doesn't really have a Camaro either so...) anyway this went on for a week, then he emailed me to tell me that he guessed I wasn't on the up and up and he was going to have to end this transaction, (oh darn! look at what I missed) I emailed him and told him I thought the car was worth an extra thousand and would fly up the next day....never heard from him again. It was still fun though. And your right their english sucks.. Hey Andrewb, would you care to introduce me to your avatar? lol

wow here I thought that the english was fantastic for a scammer. That is the best written scam email I've seen. I figured they lifted it from a legit email or auction.

Don't get to worried if you missed this one .. you can find a couple of these situations on any given day. Old cars are easy targets as there is less history available .. ****** etc.
